What is Raw Vegan??

Raw Veganism I found is most unknown to people in Melbourne, Australia. When I told my friend I made Raw Vegan “Spaghetti and Meatballs” he said;
“What? Do you just not cook the spaghetti and not cook the meat?”
Which proves my point exactly when I say people have no idea what the raw vegan diet actually is. So I thought it was time to enlighten people and let people in on what a raw vegan lifestyle and diet actually consists of.

First of all it is the combination of veganism and raw foodism and excludes all food and products of animal origin as well as food cooked at a temperate above 70 degrees.

The diet mainly consists of raw vegetables and fruits, nuts and nut pastes, grains and legume sprouts, seeds, plant oils, sea vegetables, herbs and fresh juices.

There are a few beliefs that raw vegan people have, the main belief is that cooking foods destroys the complex balance of micronutrients and natural enzymes which are needed to boost digestion and fight chronic disease.

The raw vegan diet is made up of uncooked, unprocessed and mostly organic foods and uses household equipment such as blenders, food processors and dehydrators. So there are no packaged food or meals, everything is made fresh and from scratch.

The level of effort required to uphold this diet and lifestyle is very high due to the preparation that some recipes take, such as soaking nuts or dehydrating. Raw Veganism tends to be more expensive due to it being mostly organic and the equipment needed can be pricey.
